Hyperhidrosis - increased sweating
Hyperhidrosis means increased sweating. We cannot influence when, where and how much we sweat. The activity of the sweat glands is congenital. If the body's own "cooling" system is constantly running at full speed - regardless of whether it is hot or cold, whether you have exerted yourself or are relaxing on the sofa - this "hyperhidrosis" affects your whole life.
Treatment with botulinum toxin
Botulinum toxin is injected in precisely calculated small amounts into the region where the sweat glands are overactive. The medication prevents the activation of the glands there. As a rule, the injections hardly hurt at all. The therapeutic effect usually sets in within two days at the latest and lasts up to 9 months on average. If the body has broken down the Botox without side effects and the treatment is repeated, the effect often lasts even longer.
The treatment is partially or fully covered by private health insurance if medically necessary.
